Love and Romance are every where

A Romantic Sunset by the seaRomance can be everywhere even if you are not currently in love with someone, a sunset can be very romantic even if you are on your own the thing is that you have to be comfortable in your own skin. A romantic song doesn´t stop being romantic just because at the present moment you are on your own, in fact you have to be in love with whom you are in order to be in love with someone else. I love travels and vacation trips because I find romance and inspiration in every country or destination I visit, even when in a family trip or a friends only vacation, I find my spiritual and loving moments. I like the kind of peace and rest you find when staring at the waves from the ocean hit the rocks or a fire crackling the wood in the fireplace, those alone moments are love for me .

Friends and Love life.

I might as well confess I have done some internet dating and not all of it has gone wrong, but not all of it has worked either, it is like the blind date thing and it really might work for some people, I don’t think it will work for me, I feel better knowing someone form a real life reference than going in a completely new adventure with no one to use as a reference. I like the quiet and motionless times of my love life, but every now and then I get this need to go looking again and I call all my friends and let them know I am open to suggestions again, and they start looking though their cell phone contacts to see if they can remember anyone there that I might like. After all what are friends for if not to travel with and introduce you to potential soul mates?

Love, Life and Friends

Ok so my love life is in a kind of still and quiet place, a little ignored and neglected, but I do have friends who like to set me up with their coworkers or friends or relatives. Relatives is where I draw the line , I know from experience it is hard to tell a good friend with the best intentions that her beloved cousin Ritchie suck’s or is too boring or is unattractive, or just a plain he is friend material can turn your friendship with this particular friend into a cold distant forget me soon relationship, so I don’t date my friend’s relatives no matter how distant they may seem. And I might as well take this dating thing as I like to visualize my vacation trips, as an opportunity to meet new people and experience new things, It may not be the life changing experience, but I can have a good time and enjoy the evening even if I know I won’t be seeing this guy again.

My love and romantic life.

So in the mean time while another exciting travel opportunity arises, I have work to catch up with and family and friends to visit and connect. I should have a love life to tend but between work, family, friends, travels, and life itself I have been kind of hoping my love live would take care of itself, I guess I will have to dedicate some time to exploring new love options and going out in dates, it’s not as exciting as traveling but I do enjoy meeting new people and even if they are friend material and not love partner material I have kept some of my date male friends several years now. If I had been romantically involved with them no doubt that by now I would have no idea what was going on in their lives. It is like that TV show, My boys I think its called, in which the only girl in the group is friend of all the guys and the minute a romantic interest for any of them comes up the friendship is threatened.

So many places…. so little time….

We had a great week visiting New York City and just as the trip to arrive at your vacation destination is filled with excitement and anticipation, the trip home is filled with memories, shopping bags, and a longing to return to the most recent vacation spot as soon as you can and make new and improved memories. I for once had the need to count my Royal Holiday Credits and make an approximate as for when I was going to be able to return to New York, of course in the way of recounting and making counts and numbers in the Royal Holiday web site, as usual I come across some new and exciting destinations and start making plans for my new traveling adventure to some place exotic, maybe Portugal, or this place south of Argentina, close to Antartida called Ushiuaia. Mmmmmm so many options, so little time….

Cruising New York II

The Cruise is a glass covered ship where we dine a delicious three course dinner that included champagne pâté, lobster bisque, antipasto, or tuna as appetizers,  lamb, veggies, pork, chicken, ribs or mahi mahi (fish) as entrées and berries, cheesecake (of course New York Cheesecake), chocolate cake and Panna Cotta ( which is kind of a gelatin dessert with berries) as desserts.  The good thing is we got to tried two of each, but we did ask our table neighbors how good were their choices. After dinner is over you can go to the outdoor decks to hear live music and have the time of your life, it was so romantic we regretted no having our partners with us, people danced and the night lights of Manhattan were the background. We had a great time, great food made some nice vacation friends and enjoy our last day in New York until almost 12 at night.

So our week in New York was coming to an end and we still had so much to see, we had visited the Empire State building, Central Park, China Town, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, the Broadway theatres, the main New York museums, Rockefeller Center, etc… We had walked all through the city used the subway and carried our shopping bags for miles, and sadly it all was coming to an end. The people in the Affinia Manhattan hotel were growing used to us asking about life in New York and explaining with amazing patience how to get where we wanted to go. For our Last day in the City that never sleeps, we decided to have a great dinner at the Cruise that goes all around the Island. The ship  departures  from Pier 61 at 7:45 pm, so we took what I think was the perfect goodbye for our New York The Great Statue of Libertyvacation Trip.

New York’s ChinaTown

We went to China Town, believe me it was difficult to resist buying imitation handbags, they look just the same as the originals just less than half the price. But we did resist the temptation and got out with a few Chinese products and a really tasty and abundant meal. We did enjoy looking at the windows and the shops with all this strange knick knacks that we gave away as souvenirs to friends and coworkers.  The New York China Town is really  a  whole different community inside the city, with all the costumes, restaurants scents and flavors of the real China. We also liked the big apple’s Central Park, although a little scared to go in even in full day light, we managed to take a stroll and enjoy the great weather we were having. The horse carriage ride seemed a little too much and it would anyway had taken us to a different time in New York.

The Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is amazing from every point of view, the view from the Ferry that takes you to Ellis Island allows you to take whole body pictures , but once you are at its base, it is huge and of course quite a view. No wonder it represents freedom for all the immigrants arriving to the States. I loved the ferry and the Ellis Museum, to think about all the people who came into our country looking for the freedom they didn’t have in their home countries, and to experience the history of the place they all came through is overwhelming. We also visited the Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan. We know that the center is really beautiful during the winter months, but it is well worth a visit any time of the year, and all the shopping you can do at one spot are worth the day.

Play nice in New York

New Yorkers used to have a bad reputation concerning their coldness  and indifference towards each other and any people they saw on the street, so the best thing you can do is to go around as if no one around you existed, I don’t know if 9/11 changed that, or if it wasn’t truth to begin with, but I did find friendly people who lived in the city, and were glad to help me or any other tourist who would ask for either directions or just small talk at a line in a coffee shop, I found out that they are kind and glad to share their story and their time with anyone who would be nice enough to listen, I have found out that no matter where you are in the whole world, you are treated by others the same way you treat others. The  people who live in New York are just like us , they only think they have more work than any one else.
